PRINT GALLERY PRINT SPECIFICATIONS

Our fine-art gallery prints are produced by West Coast Imaging. James initially contacted West Coast due to their extraordinary reputation in the fine-art printing world. The prints are produced on traditional photographic paper using West Coast's Chromira RA-4 printer. The Chromira is the ultimate fine-art photographic printer and uses red, green and blue lasers to expose the paper. Once West Coast finishes the print, it is rolled up and shipped to Jim for his signature and limited-edition numbering.

As our photographic paper of choice, Fuji Crystal Archive paper is the accepted standard for "fine-art" photographic gallery prints. This exceptional paper offers the vivid color and contrast of Cibachrome paper with twice the archival life expectancy. Under normal viewing conditions, Fuji Corporation claims that the rich colors in your print will show no sign of color shift or fading for a period of 40-60 years even without the added protection of standard glass.

If your print requires matting and/or framing, we use the highest-quality wood frames and matting material available on the market today. We use archival acid-free mounting board and provide double mats in archival museum-grade warm white. We use high-quality Tru Vue brand Premium Clear distortion-free glass as our standard framing glass and offer an anti-reflective glass upgrade option for customers wishing to eliminate the reflective properties of standard glass.

For print-only orders, the print is rolled on a tube and shipped to you via 3-day Fedex. To insure that framed prints arrive undamaged, we use heavily-cushioned cardboard boxes for our 10x30 panorama prints and our standard prints up to 20x25 and sturdy wooden crates for all larger sizes. Since we offer such a wide variety of images and framing choices, we are not able to maintain an inventory of framed prints. As soon as you place your order, production begins. Our custom framed prints are not mass produced. The printing & framing process is very labor intensive so please be patient after placing your order; it may take as little as 3 weeks for a framed print to arrive on your doorstep or up to 6 weeks during our busiest season.
