Caribou Mountains, British Columbia, Canada ID# SKY-1872
|
The sun breaks over the crest of the Wavy Range in the Caribou Mountains of British Columbia. Large Pleistocene glaciers scooped out deep trenches in these mountain valleys to create large mountain lakes such as this. In this area, the glaciers were aided by more recent lava flows which also dammed large mountain valleys to form lakes. The Caribou Mountains are located in south-central British Columbia north of the town of Kamloops.
