A hiker stops beside a jumbled icefall on the lower Mendenhall Glacier outside of Juneau Alaska. Fed by copious quantities of snow, the vast Juneau ice cap feeds enormous glaciers, including this one, which spill down nearly to sea level just outside the Alaskan capitol.
