Hiking along the upper reaches of the Maligne River, Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada. Just downstream from this location the river flows out into the turquoise-hued waters of Maligne Lake. These waters merge with the Athabasca River 35 miles downsteam near the town of Jasper and begin their long journey north into the Arctic Ocean.
