Old chained-up tires once used as breakwater barriers around Hite Marina. Due to the retreating waters of Lake Powell, these tires now rest on mud flats at a location once 98 feet below the surface of the reservoir. The Colorado River flows beneath the cliffs in the distance before it enters the waters of Lake Powell 1/2 mile downstream from here. Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, Utah.
