Located east of the town of Salem, Oregon, Silver Falls State Park contains one of the highest concentrations of waterfalls found anywhere in North America. The nationally-recognized Trail of Ten Falls provides access for hikers to many of these waterfalls along the banks of the north and south forks of Silver Creek. This extensive and well-maintained trail network takes you to ten majestic waterfalls, ranging from the grand South Falls at 177 feet, to delicate Drake Falls at 27 feet. The hiking trail traverses behind four of these waterfalls into the large grottos carved out by the plunging water including North Falls as seen in this black & white photograph. North Falls plummets 136 feet over a lip of resistant basalt into a pile of large boulders at its base. This vertical panoramic black & white photograph was captured with a 6x17 panorama format camera. All photos in these fine art photo galleries may be ordered as fine art black & white framed prints or for B&W stock photography usage.
