| Mountaineering, New Zealand. Climber descending from the Sealy Tarns hut below Mount Sefton in Mount Cook National Park, South Island, New Zealand. A wonderful network of backcountry huts are provided in Mount Cook Park. Thanks to the often ferocious weather which slams into these peaks from the Tasman Sea, these huts can be lifesavers. That is unless you were one of four unfortunate folks who died when one hut which was anchored with steel cables into the bedrock was blown from its perch during one especially nasty blow many years ago. |
