| Mountaineering in Argentina. The late Laura Evans at the 18,000 foot level on approach to high camp on Aconcagua. At 22,881 feet, Aconcagua is the highest peak in the Andes mountain range. Laura was the inspiration behind Expedition Inspiration whose goal it was to put a team of breast cancer survivors on top of this, the highest peak in the world outside the Himalayas. They achieved their goal in February of 1994. Sadly, Laura passed away in October of 2000. |
