The five elaborate faces captured in this panorama photograph peer out from a small alcove across a large flat area along a canyon bottom which may have been used for farming. These beautiful "faces" motifs are only found in one small area in southern Utah. It has been suggested that these unique designs may have their basis in the combination of Fremont art and ancestral Puebloan art. While the Fremont are known for their strong anthropomorphic figures, the ancestral Puebloan were not. These Pueblo II & III anthropomorphs are distinguished by their elaborate jewelry, headdresses and the pre-smoothing of the rock before the faces were painted on. This panoramic photograph was captured with a 6x17 panorama format camera. All photos in these fine art photo galleries may be ordered as fine art framed prints or for stock photography usage.
