An in-camera double exposure was used to capture these late-September aspen trees in this panorama photograph captured along the Mount Nebo Loop Road on the east side of Mount Nebo in the southern Wasatch Mountains of Utah. The first image was recorded and then the camera was moved slightly to the left to record the second image on the same piece of film. This resulted in ghostly images of the aspen trees and gives the final image the look more of a painting than a photograph. Reaching higher into the sky than any other mountain in the Wasatch Range, the 11,928-foot summit of Mount Nebo overlooks vast aspen groves which blanket the eastern slopes of the mountain. The Mount Nebo Loop Road winds for miles through these aspen groves to an elevation of 9,000' and provides dramatic sweeping views in all directions across this region of north-central Utah. This panoramic photograph was captured with a 6x17 panorama format camera. All photos in these fine art photo galleries may be ordered as fine art framed prints or for stock photography usage.
