The mountains along West Maroon Creek above the town of Aspen, Colorado are carpeted with some of the most spectacular aspen groves anywhere in the Rocky Mountains. Located along the trail to Crater Lake below the Maroon Bells, this particular grove usually reaches its vivid peak of color during the last week of September. When viewed from Maroon Lake, this extensive grove fills the foreground beneath the rugged summits of the Maroon Bells. This vertical photograph was captured with a 6x7 format camera. All photos in these fine art photo galleries may be ordered as fine art framed prints or for stock photography usage.
