| Buckskin Gulch, Utah. Two backpackers pause along Buckskin Gulch in the Paria Canyon Vermilion Cliff Wilderness Area in Utah. As you walk through this canyon you can see flash flood debris wedged 75 feet overhead. With its headwaters over 30 miles away in Bryce Canyon National Park, it could be sunny overhead as you hear the roar of a wall of water bearing down on you. You definitely want to check the weather before you head into this narrow canyon. |
