| Tasman Glacier, New Zealand. A mountaineer creates a silhouette on the Tasman Glacier below Mount Green in Mount Cook National Park on South Island, New Zealand. I had planned to spend a week climbing the surrounding peaks with a couple New Zealand friends. Wave after wave of late spring storms swept in off the Tasman Sea with an endless round of 75mph winds and huge amounts of snow. Except for a couple brief pauses between waves, when I took this photo, we spent the entire week pinned down in the hut. |
