| Virgin River narrows. A backpacker is silhouetted against the Virgin River in the Zion narrows of Zion National Park in southern Utah. The 16 mile trek through this 3000 foot deep narrow gorge is one of the most beautiful walks in the world. Many hikers have been killed over the years due to flash floods. Permits are required. Get a good weather report before you venture in. |
