| Spooky Gulch, Utah. If you plan to visit this canyon near Hole-in-the-Rock Road, you may first want to go on a diet. It's so narrow in places that even the most gaunt need to turn sideways and remove their packs in order to slide through. For obvious reasons, plan to avoid days with potential thunderstorms as flood debris can be seen wedged nearly 30 feet overhead in the narrowest sections. You may also wish to avoid those days when large groups arrive to explore these canyons. I once encountered a group of 50 people coming up-canyon as I was going down and I spent the better part of 30 minutes pressed into a small alcove as they squirmed by.
