| Antelope Canyon, Arizona. Perhaps the most beautiful example of water-sculpted stone anywhere on Earth, the Navajo sandstone walls of Antelope Canyon have taken on the swirling, undulating appearance of the flowing water which has scoured them over the ages. Bathed in warm reflected sunlight, these sensuous curves continually change their moods as the sun wheels overhead. With our limited grasp of deep time, it is difficult for us to even comprehend the tiny amount of geologic time required to cut this canyon no less the 190 million years which have elapsed since this sandstone was deposited.
