| Bearhat Mountain, Glacier National Park. If you decide to hike along the crowded trail from Logan Pass to Hidden Lake overlook, you'll have equal chances of brushing elbows with head-to-toe leather-clad bikers as you will tourist-friendly mountain goats. Beargrass flowers usually bloom here in late July as the last of the winter ice melts from the surface of this beautiful lake secluded at 6375 feet below the summit of Bearhat Mountain. Although this alpine lake sits at a low elevation compared with other mountain lakes in the Rocky Mountain West, its northern location can force a snow-covered approach from Logan Pass as late as August in some years.
