| Autumn Colors, Zion National Park. Late afternoon sunlight reflecting off the soaring sandstone walls of Zion Canyon provides warm fill light for this early November scene beneath Angel's Landing. This brilliant cluster of maple trees had shed its leaves to create a colorful carpet beneath the tree. Due to the relatively low elevation of Zion Canyon, the trees here are some of the last in Utah to lose their leaves; usually during the first week of November. The exact date depends on precipitation and temperature patterns during the preceding summer season.
