Twilight Peak, Weminuche Wilderness. The Weminuche wilderness is named after a small group of Ute Indians who once inhabited this region of mountains in southwest Colorado. At 401,600 acres, this congressionally-designated wilderness area ranks as Colorado's largest and contains some of the most rugged and wild mountain terrain in the American West. While impressive in its own right, 13,075-foot North Twilight Peak; seen here reflected in a small glacial tarn, is dwarfed by several 14,000 foot peaks immediately to the east. All photos in these galleries may be ordered as fine art framed prints or for stock photography usage.
