| Anasazi Ruin, Utah. This well-preserved ruin is located in the upper reaches of White Canyon in southern Utah. The first person of European descent who recorded a visit to this site tells a story of how he walked past it hundreds of times over a period of many years without ever seeing it. He worked as the superintendent of a small national monument nearby and on one cold winter day, he climbed a small ledge to get into the sun and "discovered" this and a small grouping of other structures along a prominent ledge. At that point, it had been at least 700 years since the original owners vacated the area. While this site is well known today, countless other unvisited ruins are hidden in canyons all across this area of southeast Utah. All photos in these galleries may be ordered as fine art framed prints or for stock photography usage. |
