| Ancient Pictograph, southern Utah. These beautiful "faces" motifs are only found in one small area in southern Utah. It has been suggested that these unique designs may have their basis in the combination of Fremont art and Anasazi art. While the Fremont were known for their strong anthropomorphic figures the Anasazi were not. Known as the Pueblo II & III "faces" style, these pictographs are distinguished by their elaborate jewelry, headdresses and the pre-smoothing of the rock before the faces were painted on. All photos in these galleries may be ordered as fine art framed prints or for stock photography usage. |
