| Newspaper Rock, Utah. Perhaps the most accessible and highly visited ancient rock art panel in southern Utah, Newspaper Rock is located near the stream in Indian Creek Canyon. This area was prime habitat for the Anasazi culture which flourished in this region over 1000 years ago. As a main travel corridor, many people stopped to carve symbols into the patina of wingate sandstone up until quite recently as evidenced by the horseback archer.
