Deer Creek, Grand Canyon. Located in the depths of the Grand Canyon, Deer Creek plunges into the Colorado River in the Granite Narrows section of the Canyon in a series of beautiful waterfalls as it slices through a 200-foot-thick layer of Tapeats sandstone. A couple hundred feet downstream from this small waterfall, it plummets almost 100 feet just before mixing with the waters of the Colorado River. Deer Creek originates several miles up-canyon where it bursts from the side of a high cliff with its full volume of cold-clear water. A rugged trail descends one vertical mile into these depths from Monument Point on the North Rim. All photos in these galleries may be ordered as fine art framed prints or for stock photography usage.
