| Endicott Arm, Alaska. Located about fifty miles south of Juneau, Alaska, Endicott Arm Fiord is a spectacular destination for sea kayaking. When combined with Tracy Arm, these two iceberg-studded fiords provide a 125-mile long paddle. Along the sides of the fiords, hundreds of glacier-born waterfalls spill down the polished granite cliffs into the sea. John Muir described this area as a Yosemite filled with water as granite cliffs rise straight out of the icy water thousands of feet into the sky. Throughout Endicott Arm, bald eagles perch on the tips of icebergs, bears patrol the shores for food, and humpback whales probe the depths for food. |
