| Ice climbing. Out for some afternoon exercise on the ice blocks of the Tasman Glacier, Mount Cook National Park, New Zealand. I had planned to spend a week climbing the surrounding peaks with a couple New Zealand friends. Wave after wave of late spring storms swept in off the Tasman Sea with an endless round of 75mph winds and huge amounts of snow. Except for a couple brief pauses between waves, when I took this ice climbing photo, we spent the entire week pinned down in the hut. |
