Capitol Reef National Park, Utah. The moon sets over the Temple of the Sun in Cathedral Valley in Capitol Reef National Park in southern Utah. This 700-foot tall Entrada sandstone tower is in the same sandstone layer in which the arches of Arches National Park occur. At this location, approximately 90 miles to the west, the Entrada sandstone is much softer and instead of forming windows and arches has eroded into these tall sharp pinnacles. Its smaller companion, the Temple of the Moon, is located just out of the frame to the left.
