Perhaps the most beautiful example of water-sculpted stone anywhere on Earth, the Navajo Sandstone walls of Antelope Canyon have taken on the swirling, undulating appearance of the flowing water which sculpted them over the ages. Bathed in reflected sunlight, these sensuous curves continually change their moods as the sun wheels overhead. With our limited grasp of deep time, it is difficult to comprehend the tiny amount of geologic time required to cut this canyon no less the 190 million years which have elapsed since this sandstone was deposited in a vast sea of shifting sand reminiscent of todays Sahara. This black & white vertical photograph was captured with a 6x7 format camera. All photos in these fine art photo galleries may be ordered as fine art black & white framed prints or for B&W stock photography usage.
